You may have noticed it's been a while since I posted about The Pickled Hutch. You might remember that Lisa closed up shop to start a new venture for a while, but Lisa has re-opened The Pickled Hutch! And she even re-opened in her old Pacifica location. The shop has a whole new look, though. Everything is airy and bright and filled with the colors of the sea and sunset--perfect for its beachside location--cool shades of blue, whites, yellows, reds, pinks. You can practically feel the sun on your face and the breeze in your hair when you're in there. And of course, everything is time-worn and loved, just like we like them, right? Here's a peek of the NEW Pickled Hutch. Lisa, I'm so excited for you!! Click here to see a lot more pictures of The Pickled Hutch in its previous location.

Little Doll Lois, Mom's Pillow and News
Isn't she adorable! I got her for $4 at the Alemany Flea Market this weekend. Her name is Lois (named after you know who) and she looks perfect in her room. Also, I made the pillow you see below for my mom to go in the blue and white guest bedroom. She gave me this tea towel and I know how much she loved it, so I wanted to make it into something for her. It think it would be fun to make another pillow with this fabric or this one to match the blue one since the guest bedroom also has splashes of red. This was my first sewing experience with any kind of fringe. It was fun and easier than I thought it would be to make it. I'm also going to make a pillow for Lois with her name on it later this week.
In other news, I'm working on a vintage etsy shop to sell all kinds of vintage things with my mom--jewelry, vintage fabric and notions, books, etc. So I'll let you know when it's up. Also, Lisa has decided to close The Pickled Hutch in Pacifica and join a friend in a new venture at her shop, Willa Home, in Burlingame. I know this will be a positive experience for Lisa. Wish her luck over at her blog, or better yet, stop into the shop and whish her luck in person while you take advantage of the amazing sale she's having!

Pickled Hutch Picks
Yesterday I went to the Pickled Hutch. It's so nice going there now. I didn't think I'd be especially happy about driving the few 10 minutes to the new shop verses walking down the street two blocks to the old shop, but I actually love it. The drive is so pretty. At first it's just regular old highway driving, but just a few minutes before you reach the exit, you go up a big hill, and once you reach the top, you can see the ocean and beautiful shoreline to your right and rolling green hills dotted with houses to the left. And then of course when I get there, I find treasures! It's a nice outing. Here are my picks this week.
Old white metal toolbox. $32.

Wood "ribbon" mirror. I think this mirror is so cute and would be perfect for a little girl's room, above a dressing table or dresser. It's $42. Someone put it on hold after I took the picture, though, so it may be gone now!

Candle holder. $22.

While I was there, Lisa went to Tranquilitea down the street and picked up these petifores. Aren't they pretty? Here they are before . . .

And after! We ate all of them! Wow, they were good. Thanks Lisa!
The Pickled Hutch is an antique store in San Francisco that I love. Every Wednesday (or so) I pick three items to post on my blog that I especially like. The Pickled Hutch is located at 2021 Palmetto Avenue, Pacifica, CA. Open Wed. to Sun. 11 - 6. PH 650-359-2000. Ask for Lisa.

Pickled Hutch Picks
I've gotten really behind in posting my Pickled Hutch picks. Lisa's only a short drive away at the new location, but I haven't taken the time to go over there but once since the grand opening a few weeks ago. I did go last week, though. The shop looks fresh with lot of new things. Here are my picks this week.
