Decorative Living Fair

Earlier this week I had the pleasure of going to the Decorative Living Fair at Chelsea Old Town Hall, hosted by Caroline Zoob. It was like going to a wonderful antique mall with the best selection of vendors. Normally held in Kent, this year's event was in London, so I made arrangements to go, (which means I hired a babysitter so I could go solo!) and had a few happy hours browsing beautiful vintage housewares and some really great handmade items as well. I met so many nice people and bought a few trinkets. Here are some snapshots from the fair. I liked so many stalls, but it was quite busy when I was there, and it was hard to squeeze into many of them to get photos. But here are a few! Photos above, in clockwise from top left, are from Blue Linen Cupboard, Old Rectory Sales, Lois Kirsten, Gazehound Vintage, Old Rectory Sales again, and Sam Lindsay.

And below, clockwise from the left, are from Home Front Vintage (amazing things made from silk printed 50s maps), Victor (really nice handmade driftwood marine sculptres), my favorites of which were housed in little wood drawers), Vintage Green, and Lois Kirsten.
The stall that got my attention most was The Old Haberdashery. Just as I turned the corner, I saw this beautiful burst of color! Arranging things by color is always visually effective, I think. And I love the way it was styled, like a little corner of a cute haberdashery shop overflowing with treasures. And of course all the vintage crafty bits and bobs had me wide-eyed and excited. It was really nice talking to the owner, Sonia, and I hope I can get to her shop in East Sussex at some point!

A friend sent an email including a link to your blog. I have been lost looking at these lovely treasures ever since. "If I were there I would definitely buy..." I will return... as I am sure there are hours upon hours of more goodies to discover here.

Thank you for the comments! To Su Mason, I used to get many spam comments so I had to turn on the filter to help prevent them. Sorry about that, but I do receive the comments, and after they appear in my email inbox, I publish them. At that point they show up under the appropraite blog post. So it might take a bit before it appears, but I do publish the comments after I receive them. I don't tweet as I feel I already have so many social networks to keep up with as it is! Thanks again, Leigh
