Today's Love

One reason I started making cards was I loved to check the mailbox when I was growing up because if I got anything at all, it was something good. As I got older, though, receiving the good, fun mail from friends and family became more important to me once it was mixed with a stack of bills and the occasional IRS letter. Who doesn't like to get good things in the mail? Cute cards, thoughtful packages--everyone likes those. So I decided I wanted to be a part of that feel good mail, and I still appreciate every feel good piece of mail that I get. Today I received one of the most wonderful things ever from Connie. It's a card lined in the inside with little envelope pockets, which are filled with other small, decorative, arty and crafty cards. She is soooo creative! I'd take a Hallmark card any day and be happy about it, but this is really something special. It makes my eyes well up a little to know how much time went into putting something like this together. Also, I love the way she signs her cards and letters, "today's love, Connie." When I get something from Connie, that's what it feels like--a little love that came my way today.
