PictureShow

I'm a huge fan of iPhone photo apps. The quality and processing variations are great, and for such a cheap price, with each app being under a few dollars, most .99 cents, I think the phone is worth the photo apps alone. My new favorite photo app is PictureShow. (Here's the link to see a video on it. Turn down your volume unless you just like to pretend you're in a Holiday Inn nightclub circa 1987--the music is terrible for such a great app.) I started to ramble on and on about the settings, but just watch the video and check out the many faces of the queen that I made. The original image is from one of my birthday presents, a set of great London postcards (the last image is the original). I just opened PictureShow, took a picture of the original postcard with my phone, and then played with the settings. So what's the queen's best color? Blue, red, black and white, bright pop art colors? All of the above?!! Of course these are all things you could do with image editing software, like photoshop, but it's just really fun to be able to do on a phone and at such a low cost. I could waste a lot more time today with PictureShow, but I need to find a dentist right now. (PS. if you're interested in seeing more iPhone photography, just search for it on Flickr and you'll see a lot there.)

Inspire Me Tea

We're back from our vacation, and I think I'm experiencing post vacation depression disorder! I wonder if there really is such a thing. I'm really just in a little bit of a post-vacation funk. It was so much fun that it's hard to come down from such a great time. Today I'm doing things around the house, laundry and whatnot, but also thinking of some fun London places to visit. One place on my list is afternoon tea at the Haymarket Hotel. A friend told me about tea at the hotel and said it's sort of like having tea inside an Anthropologie. I could handle that. It does look inspiring, doesn't it? I wonder if they have high chairs for the wee tea drinkers.

Lazy Days

Our beach vacation is over now, but we had a great time! Lazy days of summer. We head back to London tomorrow, but I'm sure my mind will be drifting back at the beach in no time.

Seaside

We got to the beach in South Carolina on Friday and have been having a great time! My mom, sister, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins are all here. We've been eating, sleeping, and chilling on the beach--about the only things you can do around here. And I've been having a great time taking iPhone pictures, using my most recent favorite app, tiltshift (all of these are with the tiltshift app on my iPhone). We've tried bringing our Canon on the beach, but it's been so humid and windy that condensation forms on the lens and doesn't want to go away. That's also because it's coming from out from the AC. But that's okay. It just means more fun with iPhone pictures.

Birthday

Over the weekend I celebrated a birthday! Party girl! I haven't been great at updating my blog regularly so it will be a surprise to know that I celebrated my birthday at home in Atlanta. We're here for one week visiting our families and then we're heading to the beach in South Carolina for a week. It's so nice to be home! Andrew's mom had a little family cookout for me on Sunday and we had a great birthday. Here are a few pictures from my big day. (I didn't have time to make my own party hat before we left, but I had to have at least some paper, store-bought party hats.)
Party dress and shoes.
For the tiny tot too.
Andrew's sister, Jessica and Me.
My sister, Page, me, Lois and my friend Jill.
